About Us

Who is Vaya?

Vaya Health manages services for people with behavioral health (mental health and substance use), I/DD, and TBI in 32 counties across North Carolina. Vaya Health also manages physical health and pharmacy services for Medicaid.

At Vaya, we believe that working together across different areas of care is the best way to help people reach their health goals. From physical conditions or mental health concerns to housing, food, and employment, we know that everyone’s needs are unique. Our person-centered approach connects people to the services and supports they need to achieve health and wellness in their communities.

Vaya’s roots in North Carolina go back 50 years. Alongside Vaya members, recipients, providers, and community stakeholders, we are moving forward together toward a healthier North Carolina.
